A new special video, “Mobile Suit Gundam W -Operation 30th-,” has been released today to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the landmark anime series, Mobile Suit Gundam Wing.

New Footage Helmed by Director Toru Iwasawa
This new animation is directed by Toru Iwasawa, a veteran known for his work as an action director and animation director on numerous acclaimed titles. The footage reveals a new mobile suit of radical design, the “Wing Gundam Zero Cloaked Custom,” which is seen wearing a mantle. Additionally, the video features the first-ever animated appearances of characters who were not in the original TV series: “Adeen Lowe,” the adoptive father who taught protagonist Heero Yuy survival skills, and “Meilan,” the wife of Chang Wufei.

In conjunction with the announcement, a newly drawn key visual has also been released. The visual is inspired by the iconic eyecatches from the original TV broadcast, a design that is sure to be a moving sight for long-time fans of the series.
San Diego Comic-Con Special Program Confirmed for Livestream
A special program titled “SDCC Highlight Gunchan Report” is scheduled to be livestreamed on the GUNDAM.INFO YouTube channel on Saturday, July 26th at 7:00 PM JST. The program will look back at the “GUNDAM Showcase – Featuring 30 Years of Gundam Wing” panel held at the recent San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) while delivering the latest updates for the Gundam Wing 30th anniversary. The stream will feature Hikaru Midorikawa, the voice actor for Heero Yuy, as a special guest, with Genki Okawa serving as the host. This is another can’t-miss event for fans.
