A must-listen for fans, it promises behind-the-scenes stories about the creation of Slayers.
- Audio Guide B: An Original Story Featuring Six Fan-Favorite Characters Enjoy a brand-new, original story written exclusively for the exhibition, featuring a star-studded cast of six characters: Lina, Gourry, Zelgadis, Xellos, Amelia, and Naga.
Congratulatory Comments Arrive from Six Main Anime Cast Members
After recording the audio guides, the six celebrated cast members shared their congratulations for the 35th anniversary of the original work and the 30th anniversary of the anime.
- Megumi Hayashibara (Lina Inverse) On recording the audio guide: “Recording with Mr. Kanzaka and Mr. Araizumi… you’ll get to hear behind-the-scenes stories that only these two could have created! I’m sure of it. Well, probably (laughs). The cast recording was terrifyingly ‘in character.’ The ad-libs and wild requests were met with instant responses! It felt incredibly good.” On the anniversary: “The gratitude and terror of being called upon for every anniversary… (laughs) But Lina wouldn’t listen to such complaints. ‘If you’re going, I have no choice but to go too!’ That refreshing spirit! That soul! We need to spread the word to the lost lambs of the social media age.”
- Yasunori Matsumoto (Gourry Gabriev) On recording the audio guide: “We all gathered for the first time in a long, long time. The moment I saw everyone’s faces, it felt like time rewound. Back then, it was Saturday mornings, and that feeling came right back. Even more so when I heard their voices.” On the anniversary: “Thirty and thirty-five years are easy to say, but it’s a significant portion of a lifetime. This is all thanks to the unwavering support of our fans. We look forward to your continued support.”
- Hikaru Midorikawa (Zelgadis Graywords) On recording the audio guide: “They went to the trouble of making it a drama, and I truly felt the love for the work. I was so happy that almost the full cast was there for the recording. I really wanted to fire off a spell or two (laughs).” On the anniversary: “It’s wonderful for someone involved to see events like this being held even after so many years. The main cast is still going strong, so we’d love to take on other types of work! You know, you could even make a new anime! (laughs).”
- Akira Ishida (Xellos) On recording the audio guide: “The fact that the script was prepared for me in a slightly larger font size made me feel the cruel passage of time. It was as if the entire studio had time-slipped, a strange phenomenon.” On the anniversary: “It’s easy to say 35th and 30th anniversary, but I can’t help but feel a sense of awe that the content has remained alive for so long. At this rate, aiming for a 70th and 60th anniversary might not be just a dream. I’ll aim for a demon’s lifespan so I can be there to celebrate.”
- Masami Suzuki (Amelia Wil Tesla Saillune) On recording the audio guide: “It’s been a while since I played Amelia. The moment I heard everyone’s voices, I was transported back to those days. I was stumbling over my lines as usual, but it was a fun, happy, and nostalgic recording session.” On the anniversary: “The unchanging world of Slayers is filled with a gentle love. As long as Slayers exists, even beyond its 35th anniversary, ‘Justice will always prevail!’ ♡”
- Maria Kawamura (Naga the Serpent) On recording the audio guide: “It was so much fun recording with the nostalgic cast members; I was so excited. I hope it becomes a guide where you can enjoy watching the chaotic fun of Lina and her group!” On the anniversary: “Slayers created a new era of fantasy novels and has been on a rampage ever since! Please continue to conquer the world with your bright and fun bishoujo power! Towards a shining future, I’ll be sure to polish my noblewoman’s laugh!!”
