Ahead of the highly anticipated 2026 launch of the new project, Mobile Police Patlabor EZY, an exhibition celebrating the series’ origins and evolution has been announced. The “Mobile Police Patlabor HEADGEAR+ Exhibition” will run from Friday, August 1, to Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the SPACE 7-8 event hall on the 8th floor of Yurakucho Marui in Tokyo.
This exhibition will trace how the original creator group HEADGEAR conceived and developed the iconic Patlabor franchise, centered around recently discovered and valuable materials. Featuring numerous never-before-seen documents and illustrations, this is an unmissable event for fans of the series.

The venue will feature a comprehensive timeline chronicling the project’s history from its inception to the present day. Key displays will include storyboards by Mamoru Oshii for Mobile Police Patlabor: The Early Days (Initial OVA Series) and art and design materials from WXIII: Patlabor the Movie 3.
A major highlight is the first-ever public display of rare illustrations by Masami Yuki and Yutaka Izubuchi. Izubuchi’s original artwork and high-quality reproductions of Yuki’s illustrations will be showcased, allowing visitors to feel the creative energy from the moment the series was born.
Furthermore, a selection of materials related to the upcoming 2026 project, Mobile Police Patlabor EZY, will also be revealed for the first time.




Exclusive AR Audio Conversation with Akemi Takada and Hidetaka Tenjin
Attendees can enjoy a special audio conversation between character designer Akemi Takada (HEADGEAR) and mechanic designer Hidetaka Tenjin, delivered as an exclusive Augmented Reality (AR) content.
By using their own smartphones or tablets to scan QR codes placed throughout the venue, visitors can access this unique and insightful discussion free of charge. This fan-coveted feature will delve into deep insights and behind-the-scenes stories of the production. A personal set of earphones or headphones is required.

Premium Guided Tour with Screenwriter Kazunori Ito
For three days only, Kazunori Ito, a member of HEADGEAR and the screenwriter for the series, will personally lead a premium guided tour of the exhibition.
